Carol Orler and Matthew Laber lost part of their home in Hurricane Milton at Bradenton Tropical Palms in Bradenton, Fla. Carol and William Orler were out of state at a car show when Hurricane Milton made landfall. Before they left, they made sure to strap down the mobile home. After the hurricane left, their granddaughter, Danyell Bergey, raced over to their mobile home to check on it. She text messaged a photograph to her grandmother. Carol Orler started to cry and couldn’t breathe. She was brought to the hospital in an ambulance and stayed there until she calmed down. It took them three days to get home to survey what was left of their home from the hurricane.
